Stem cells are the self renewing, differentiating cells having several applications in the field of regenerating new organs.Along with this, Researchers from Institute for Cell Engineering reported that human stem cells can be used in developing personalized drugs.Drugs which will be developed with stem cells will give hope for a novel, cheaper and more effective treatment for some genetic disorders.

Experiment were conducted to on Induced Pluripotent stem cells in making disease cells on which drug testing could be possible in a quick and effective way.

Scientists extracted skin cells from the patient of rare genetic disease i.e. Riley-Day syndrome, this disease was chosen specifically as this affects only single type of nerve cell. Eventually, iPSCs cells were reprogrammed in such a way that they are able to grow in any type of body.

Reprogrammed cells then subjected to grow into complete nerve cells, as scientist can do they study on nerve cell only not on the iPSCs cells, nerve cells were examined for near about 7000 drugs for their influence and impact on diseased cells.

With the help of software programmers, researchers were able to identify the compound for revert the process which leads to disease at cellular level.
